What is a GGE file

GGE files mostly belong to SmetaWIZARD. About GGE Files:

Grand Estimate Construction Data File: These files use XML format to hold structured construction cost data. They are created by SmetaWIZARD and detail project information such as materials, labor, and cost calculations. You can open them with an XML editor or the SmetaWIZARD application.

Game Genie Emulator File: Some GGE files use a Source3 format and work as JavaScript files. They support the Gamulator emulator from Gamulato for game cheats or emulation scripts. For more details, visit Gamulator.

How do you open GGE files?

You need a suitable software like SmetaWIZARD to open a GGE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. GGE file format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. The GGE file extension is quite common and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. The two most common formats are as follows:

• 96% of all GGE files are based on the well-known XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files are not pure binary files and are therefore readable and interpretable with a text editor. GGE files can be up to 7 MB in size, but are often around 12 KB - 740 KB. • 2% of all GGE files save the data in Source file format. A source code is the set of instructions written by a programmer using a computer programming language like JavaScript, C++ or Basic. This code is translated into machine language by a compiler. The translated result is called app, program or executable. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. GGE files can be up to 650 KB in size, but are often around 350 bytes - 640 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as function. A common filename is NJS.gge.
