GRAPH file format details:
To view or edit GRAPH files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the GRAPH files:
GRAPH is one of the most common file extensions and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 10% of all GRAPH files start with the bytes STRTBLÿ crucial for this file format. These files are not plain text files, so they also contain binary data. The files are 7 KB to 19 MB in size, with a median of 780 KB. The file type is a fairly new file format. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. STRTBL. Such GRAPH files store data about metrics, summary, ceilometer, samplerpg, analysis, agenda and cplus.
- 7% of all GRAPH files have the same signature gr. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are on average 3 MB in size and range from 4 KB to 14 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. depthmapX v0 and 11-2-3. Files like these have the following tags: axial and space.
All the rest of the GRAPH files (83%) have different formats, frequently e.g. XML, Optional, ZZZ, http, digraph, Graph, VERTEX, DOXYFILE and hPe. These files are often connected to citeseer, input, results, voting, project or gold. If you want to find out which format your GRAPH file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .graph file to analyze".
