What is a HID2 file?

HID2 files mostly belong to VLC. HID2 files are used to store supplementary data in a container format. In most cases they hold image metadata using a JPG structure, which means they keep extra details about an image that are separate from the visual content.
Some versions of these files use an MP4 structure to contain encrypted video fragments. This form is designed for secure storage of video segments and is handled by specialized media tools.

How to open HID2 files
