What is a KCP file

KCP files mostly belong to Kubla Commander. KCP files are project files used by Kubla Commander for managing Kubla Cut-Fill operations. They store a set of project data using a ZIP archive format.

They package project settings and task files into one container.

They are often called KC Project files.

How do you open KCP files?

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. KCP is seldom used as a file extension and mainly uses a special format. The following file formats are most commonly found in KCP files:

• 70% of all KCP files use ZIP compression, so multiple files are compressed and stored together in one KCP file. The 2 to 6 compressed files are called data.1 and data.2. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. The files are often between 360 KB and 5 MB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: data.1. These files are often associated with kubla, fill, avenue and option, and often consist of personal data.
• 9% of all KCP files use the same file format, which have the signature rtfd. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 160 KB to 870 KB in size. The keywords __@PreferredName@__, __@UTF8PreferredName@__, charts, project.json, project.jsons, rtfd and thumbnail.jpg are typical for these files. Files like these are about project, and include person-related information.
