What is a KND file

KND files mostly belong to CarX Drift Racing Online. KND files are used in racing simulation games to store specific vehicle tuning parameters.

How to open KND files

You need a suitable software like CarX Drift Racing Online to open a KND file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the KND files comes to the following conclusion:

The KND file type includes many different file formats. The file formats most commonly found in KND files are:

• 10% of all KND files start with the bytes FB 00 00 00 crucial for this file format. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are often between 850 bytes and 940 bytes in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. front_ackerman, front_lock, front_toe, Ultimate1, rear_sp, front_caster, front_stabilizer, front_camber, front_spring_stiffness, rear_spring_way and front_spring_way. Files like these have the following tags: ultimate, nissan, silvias and toyota.
• 7% of all KND files use the same file format, which have the signature FC 00 00 00. These files are text files, so they contain words and text. Most of these files are 940 bytes to 1 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. Ultimate1, front_lock, rear_sp, front_caster, front_stabilizer, front_spring_stiffness, front_toe, front_ackerman, front_spring_way, rear_spring_way and front_camber.
