What is a KND file

KND files mostly belong to CarX Drift Racing Online. KND files are used in racing simulation games to store specific vehicle tuning parameters.

How to open KND files

You need a suitable software like CarX Drift Racing Online to open a KND file. Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our examination of the KND files comes to the following conclusion:

The KND file type is used by different programs with different formats. The file formats most commonly found in KND files are:

• 40% of all KND files do not have a standard signature. These files contain text and words as well as binary data. The files are often between 950 bytes and 1 KB in size. The file type was created recently. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. front_lock, rear_spring_way, front_stabilizer, front_caster, front_ackerman, front_toe, front_spring_way, front_spring_stiffness, front_camber and Ultimate1. Files like these have the following tags: ultimate, toyota, tune, silvias, nissan, skylineer, chaserv, mustang, streets and mark.
• 4% of all KND files use the same file format, which have the signature 00 02. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 250 bytes to 17 KB in size. The file name kn_swapdata.knd is typical for these files. Such files sometimes refer to swapdata and racing.
