KON files mostly belong to Mitsubishi MUT-III. This file may serve two distinct purposes.
Mitsubishi Configuration File: KON files in this use are text files encoded in UTF-8. They store vehicle data for Mitsubishi systems such as the MUT-III. How do you open KON files?

XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. These files contain text and words as well as binary data. The average file size is 26 KB with most files being between 1 KB and 150 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. <?xml version="1.0", encoding, widget version, debug and minimumVersion.
