What is an LPJ file

LPJ files mostly belong to LIMDEP. LPJ files are used by specific software to store project data or printing instructions.
In many cases the file is a LIMDEP project file that holds data for econometric analysis. This file is created by NLOGIT software and is used with LIMDEP (limdep.com).
Other files with the LPJ extension follow different structures. For example:

• LabVIEW Log100 file: An XML-based file that contains project data from LabVIEW 2010. More information is available at NI website.
• LaserJet Print Job: A file that uses ZIP compression to store print job instructions for LaserJet printers.

How to open LPJ files

You need a suitable software like LIMDEP to open an LPJ file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. LPJ file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below you will find our evaluation of the LPJ files:

LPJ is rarely used as a file extension and predominantly uses a uniform format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 65% of all LPJ files have the same signature Ãÿÿÿ. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are 11 KB to 1 MB in size, with a median of 290 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. DEGFRDM, RHO, RSQRD, KREG, YBAR, SSQRD, SUMSQDEV, NREG, LOGL and @LOGL. The file name dairy.lpj or grunfeld.lpj is typical for these files. Files like these are about data, productivity, gasoline, railways, swiss, dahlberg, baltagi and koop.
• 8% of all LPJ files use ZIP compression, so multiple files are compressed and stored together in one LPJ file. Tip: If you rename the file ending to .zip and then double-click it, you see the included files and images. Most of these files are 640 bytes to 2 KB in size.
