What is a MES file?

How to open MES files

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. The MES file extension includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:

• 15% of all MES files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters " 2." at the beginning. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The files are on average 280 KB in size and range from 160 KB to 550 KB. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The files contain the following words: Display View and Printing View. • 3% of all MES files are based on the popular XML file format. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files can even be read by a human.
