What is an MFA file?

MFA files mostly belong to Games Factory by Clickteam. MFA stands for Multimedia Fusion Application file. MFA file is developer files associated with the Clickteam Fusion application.

• Main Use: Clickteam Fusion is an app-creating software used by developers to create games and other software. MFA files consist of the source code for a video game/software developed with Fusion. All Fusion applications are saved in the MFA file format. Developers generally save several applications or various versions of the same application/game in the form of MFW Clickteam Fusion project files. The MFW files as such don't possess source code-related information but they do contain references to each of the individual MFA files. MFA files can be opened using Cickteam Fusion software in Windows PC by opening the program, selecting File → Open and navigating to the MFA file and clicking OK.
• Other Uses: MFA file format is also used to store data files created using the MobileFrame Desktop application. MobileFrame Desktop is a program used in managing the deployment of MobileFrame mobile applications. The MFA files consist of applications exported from the MobileFrame system and are utilized in importing applications into other MobileFrame environments.

How do you open MFA files?

You need a suitable software like Games Factory to open an MFA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your MFA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a MFA file directly in the browser:. MFA file format:

Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. In the following you will find our evaluation of the MFA files:

The MFA file type is a very commonly used file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 65% of all MFA files are Clickteam Fusion Application files. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The files are often between 210 KB and 110 MB in size. It is a modern file type. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. MFU2, Users, WorkshopDL and Desktop. WorkshopDLv200.mfa is a typical file name. Files like these have the following tags: workshopdl, sonic, engine, fnaf, five, worlds, sosimple and nights.
• 15% of all MFA files belong to MultiMedia Fusion 2 Application. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. A typical file size is 37 MB. The files contain the following words: MMF2 and mfa4. An example of a file name is FNAF1.mfa or SonicWorldsDeltaV1.5.2.mfa. Such files sometimes refer to compressed, white, delta, iwbtgalpha, nightsat, freddys and blue.

All other MFA files (20%) have different formats, often, for example, JetDB and shell script. These files sometimes refer to plus, application, opensource, source, prophecy or game.
