How can I open a PGT file?

You need a suitable software like Specialized tools to open a PGT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. PGT file format:

To view or edit PGT files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the PGT files looks like this:

The PGT file extension is not common and has no uniform or dominant file format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 20% of all PGT files use the same file format, which have the signature )#¾. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 530 bytes to 22 KB in size. The files contain the following words: `aeW, bKGD, pHYs and IDATx. A common filename is act_best00.PGT. Files like these are about armsa, best and boss.
• 15% of all PGT files have the same signature version=1.0 title=. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. The files are on average 170 bytes in size and range from 140 bytes to 290 bytes. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as page_entity=photo rect, page_type=blank, title, version=1.0, page_size=400 400, down and page_entity=photo re. down_1_2.pgt is a typical file name. Files like these have the following tags: wall.
