How to open a PND file
You need a suitable software like 7-Zip to open a PND file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PND file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PND file directly in the browser:. PND file format:
If you know the file format, you can also find out how to open or edit the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Nonetheless, different programs can utilize the same file extension to represent distinct file formats. Double-clicking on the file often results in an error when opening. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our evaluation of the PND files is as follows:
The PND file extension is not widely used. Such a file includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in PND files:
- 50% of all PND files use ZIP compression, i.e. a PND file contains several compressed files. A PND file contains 15 to 16 files, the average being 15. File names inside are DATASKPP.DBF, M_GAJI.DBF, M_KEKURANGAN1.DBF, M_MAKAN.DBF, M_RESTORETUKIN.DBF, SATKER7AN.DBF, T_KELUARGA.DBF, T_PEGAWAI.DBF, T_PERUBAHAN.DBF, T_POTLAIN.DBF, T_STSPAJAK.DBF, T_TUNGGAKAN.DBF and T_UTANGLEBIH.DBF. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. The average file size is 17 KB with most files being between 8 KB and 20 KB in size. The keywords DATASKPP.DBF are typical for these files.
- 30% of all PND files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "hsqs" at the beginning. The content consists of illegible binary data, which can only be read and interpreted by the associated programs. The file size is in the range of 1 MB to 26 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. hsqs. Examples of file names are c64toolbox.pnd or PicoDrive_192.pnd. These files are attributed to toolbox, drive, pico, drastic, rearmed and pcsx.
All other PND files (20%) have different formats. The category is tnode. Just click the "Choose your .pnd file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your PND file is.
