PVL files mostly belong to Prezi Classic.

The PVL extension is used in several ways. Depending on its origin, a PVL file may be:

• A Prezi presentation file stored as a ZIP archive. Use Prezi to open and view it.
• A project view list for engineering applications like Pro/ENGINEER or Creo. These files assist in managing design data and can be handled by tools such as Autodesk Design Review or related viewers (see PTC).
• A serialized .NET object used to store website control data within an application's framework.
• A parameter value language file meant for Windows systems; this compressed file holds configuration or setting data and is typically used by a dedicated viewer.

How do you open PVL files?

You need a suitable software like Prezi Classic to open a PVL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your PVL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a PVL file directly in the browser:. PVL file format:

To find out what program is needed to open PVL files, you need to determine the file format. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the PVL files:

The PVL file extension is not common and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The file formats most commonly found in PVL files are:

• 35% of all PVL files internally use the ZIP format, multiple files are compressed and combined into one PVL file. Primarily 8 to 50 files are included. Customary file names are document.json and version.txt. You can see the included files and images by renaming the file extension to .zip and then double-clicking it. The files are on average 3 MB in size and range from 780 KB to 21 MB. The following keywords are characteristic: assets, IHDR and image. These files are often associated with presentation, prezi and class.
• 15% of all PVL files start with the bytes # ViewList crucial for this file format. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. PVL files are between 250 bytes and 1 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. ViewList, SheetOpen SHEET1, # create ViewSet, SheetSetAlias SHEET1, ViewSetOpen VIEWSET1 SHEET1, tiff, MetaData and Document.
