What is a QFL file?

QFL files mostly belong to Quicken WillMaker Plus.

Quicken Legal Documents: QFL files are often generated by Quicken WillMaker Plus. They store legal documents like wills or family law records, sometimes referred to as Quicken WillMaker files or Quicken Family Lawyer files. They may use a proprietary internal format or a Microsoft Compound file structure.

Test Function Libraries: A smaller group of QFL files is created by QuickTest Professional (QTP). These files act as function libraries for test automation and use UTF-16 (LE) encoding. More details can be found at OpenText UFT One.

How to open QFL files

You need a suitable software like Quicken WillMaker Plus to open a QFL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your QFL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a QFL file directly in the browser:. QFL file format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ.
