What is a QTI file?

QTI files mostly belong to QtiPlot by IonDev. QTI is the filename extension of project files created by QtiPlot scientific data analysis, graphing, plotting, and visualization software. A QTI file contains all the tables, data sets, matrices, plot windows, and notes used in a project. The content of the file is written in UTF-8-encoded XML syntax. QTI filename extension is also associated with a deprecated QuickTime File Format. QTI (Question and Test Interoperability Specification) is also a standard created by IMS GLC for the purpose of storing and distributing learning material in XML format. This type of QTI files typically contain quizzes, question banks, etc. The QTI standard defines a data model for storing questions, results, and academic work assessments used by applications such as ATutor, Cognero, and Canvas learning management platforms.

How can I open a QTI file?

You need a suitable software like QtiPlot to open a QTI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your QTI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a QTI file directly in the browser:.
