What is an RCL file?

RCL files mostly belong to Nero Burning ROM.

RCL files are not a single, uniform file type. Their purpose depends on the software that created them.

• CD Label Files: RCL files can store CD label information. This use appears with Nero Burning ROM, where the file (also known as a RealJukebox CD Compilation file) holds the layout or design for a CD label. For more details, visit Nero’s site.
• Radio Control / Configuration Files: Some RCL files are encoded in UTF-16 (LE) and work as Radio Control Language files or as configuration files for rich text columns. These are used by systems like RealCalc and Visual FoxPro.

How can I open an RCL file?

If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. RCL is seldom used as a file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:
