Opening an RKP File
The RKP file type is primarily associated with CutList Plus.
What is an RKP file?
- CAD Furniture Design File: This file stores project data used in a kitchen planning workflow. It is known as a Cut Ready Kitchen Planner file and is mainly used by software like CutList Plus. It contains measurements, cut lists, and layout details for furniture design. For more details, visit the CutList Plus website.
- Rockchip Firmware Image: This file holds firmware or mobile game resource data for Rockchip devices. It is managed with tools such as Rockchip RKPlayer or RKP Viewer. More information is available on the Rockchip website.
FilExt.com tip: If your RKP file does not open with one application, it may belong to the other category. Always open these files with the designated software based on their origin.
How to open an RKP file
You need a suitable software like CutList Plus to open an RKP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your RKP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a RKP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

RKP file extension format:
If you can determine the file format, the associated program can also be determined. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. In the following you will find our evaluation of the RKP files:
RKP is not a common file extension and includes various formats for various programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 30% of all RKP files belong to RKP game package. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The files are often between 36 KB and 6 MB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. RKPD. Some examples of file names are License1.rkp.
- 20% of all RKP files use the same file format, which have the signature 2C 01. They consist of unreadable binary data. RKP files can be up to 19 KB in size, but are often around 4 KB - 16 KB.
All other RKP files (50%) have no consistent format, such as REKO cardset, ZIP and profile. You can get all the details of your RKP file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .rkp file to analyze" above.
Technical Data for RKP File Extension
an rkp CAD design file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with RKP files
- Associate the RKP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open cad design files. Because only the current version supports the latest RKP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available CutList Plus update.
- To make sure that your RKP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .RKP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
