How to open RLL files
You need a suitable software like Basic Realizer to open an RLL file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your RLL file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a RLL file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

RLL file format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The first characters in a file identify the file format, for example, HTML files start with the bytes <html>. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the RLL files looks like this:
RLL is not a common file extension and is primarily used by a single program. The following file formats are most commonly found in RLL files:
- 85% of all RLL files are associated with Microsoft Resource Library files, which internally utilize the well-known EXE format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The average file size is 44 KB with most files being between 10 KB and 1 MB in size. The file type was developed 20 years ago and is still in use today. The files contain the following words: !This program cannot be run in DOS mode and Rich. Some examples of file names are setup.rll or msmdsrv.rll. These files are often associated with msodbcsqlr, msmdsrvi, sqlxmlx, sqlevn and xplog.
The remaining 15% of all RLL files are files with no common format. You can get all the details of your RLL file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .rll file to analyze" above.
