What is an SBT file?

SBT files mostly belong to sbt by Lightbend. SBT filename extension is mainly used to save video subtitle files. An SBT subtitle contains blocks of text and timestamps for defining when each block of text is rendered during video playback. SBT is also the filename extension of the build definition file created by sbt, a build tool for Java and Scala projects. How can I open an SBT file?

You need a suitable software like sbt to open an SBT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. As a file extension, SBT isn't very common and does not have a uniform file format. However, the following two file formats are common:
