What is an SLDASM file?

SLDASM files mostly belong to SolidWorks by Dassault Systèmes. An SLDASM file is a 3D product assembly model created with SolidWorks computer-aided solid modeling and engineering program. The SLDASM file is saved in Compound Document format. It contains multiple instances of SolidWorks product part models (SLDPRT files) and (self-contained) sub assembly models which make up an assembly. eDrawings Viewer and third-party programs such as Fusion 360, PolyTrans, Acrobat, and SheetWorks can import and render an SLDASM file created with SolidWorks.

How to open SLDASM files

You need a suitable software like SolidWorks to open an SLDASM file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
