What is an SVY file?

SVY files mostly belong to Garmin BaseCamp. SVY files store data from field surveys. They record measurements such as coordinates and other survey parameters.

How to open an SVY file

You need a suitable software like Garmin BaseCamp to open an SVY file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. To view or edit SVY files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. The following filename is common: Survey_2020-06-01_001.svy.
