What is a TFX file?

TFX files mostly belong to Bolt by Avalanche Software. TFX is the file extension associated with a Pro Tools Eleven Rack preset file. Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation (DAW) developed by Avid. Eleven Rack is a guitar recording system that is designed to be integrated with Pro Tools and extends the functionality of the DAW. The Eleven Rack interface has now been discontinued. TFX files store settings for Eleven Rack rigs. To save an Eleven Rack preset, open the Eleven Rack window in Pro Tools and click on the SAVE dropdown menu. Then select Save to Computer or Save All Rigs to Computer. Save to Computer will save the current rig preset as a TFX file. Save All Rigs to Computer will save all rig presets to a folder. To load an existing Eleven Rack preset, open the Eleven Rack window in Pro Tools, right-click the current preset name and select Load from Computer. Then select the desired TFX file.

How can I open a TFX file?

You need a suitable software like Bolt to open a TFX file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your TFX file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a TFX file directly in the browser:.
