TKN file format details:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the TKN files is as follows:
The TKN file extension is not common and covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 20% of all TKN files are based on the popular XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. The files are on average 3 KB in size and range from 3.1 KB to 3.2 KB. The files contain the following words: <?xml version="1.0", DOC_TYPE, ORG_ID, TOKEN, TOKEN_BODY, TOKEN_NO, TOKEN_TYPE, UTF-8, VERSION, encoding and TENDER.
- 10% of all TKN files start with the bytes FE 00 00 07 63 13 33 78 1A 2C AF B0 9B EB FF crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. A typical file size is 57 KB. The files contain the following words: NetLinx.
All other TKN files (70%) have no consistent format, often e.g. ZIP and Error. Files like these are sometimes linked to reset or password. Just click the "Choose your .tkn file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your TKN file is.
