What is a TPI file?

TPI files mostly belong to Touch Portal.

Your TPI file is not a single standard format but a label for various specialized file types. In many cases it is used as a Touch Portal Icon, where the file is actually a ZIP archive used to store icon settings for the Touch Portal application.
Other formats include:

How do you open TPI files?

You need a suitable software like Touch Portal to open a TPI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Our evaluation of the TPI files is as follows:

TPI is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes various formats for various programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in TPI files:

• 30% of all TPI files internally use the ZIP format, so several files are compressed and saved in one TPI file. Primarily 5 to 70 files are included. The average file size is 94 KB with most files being between 7 KB and 350 KB in size. The keywords BACnet Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement, PICS 0, -- BACnet, BACnet/IP Interface, Vendor Name, Product Name, Product Model, Product Model Number, -- http://www.eaton.com/powerxpert, Eaton Power and Xpert are typical for these files. The file name bacnet-epics_55555.tpi or epics_vts3_pxgx_1002.tpi is characteristic of these files. Files like these have the following tags: epics, bacnet, pxgx, pxmp, gateway, pxbcm, side and west.

All other TPI files (50%) have different formats, the following 5 formats exist: EXE and IPTDXT. They are often associated with format, arbi, background, fusion, adobe, voicemeeter, valorant, spdrman, image, light or suite.
