What is a WLT file?

How to open WLT files

The file format, which is the arrangement and type of data in a file, determines which program can open the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Knowledge is power - this also applies when dealing with unknown or faulty files. Our analysis of the WLT files produces the following result:

WLT is not a commonly used file extension and includes different formats for the applicable programs. But the following two file formats are common:

• 30% of all WLT files use the same file format, which have the signature eyJ. These files are text files and can therefore be read using a text editor. The files are often between 500 bytes and 540 bytes in size. The file type is relatively new. The following keywords are characteristic: eyJuYW, IjAiOnsiYnJhaW, IjoiIiwibmFtZSI, YXRlS, bnRzIjp, eyJwcml, iOiJwYXNzOmJpcDMyIiwiZW, iOnRydWUsImFsZ, NvdW and eyIwIjp. Files like these are sometimes connected to wallet, and often include person-related information.
• 20% of all WLT files are Ilium eWallet data files. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. WLT files are between 7 KB and 150 KB in size. The following keywords are characteristic: *Ilium Software* and This is an eWallet file. It can only be used with eWallet. Do not edit this file with any other program. A common filename is My Wallet.wlt. These files are often associated with backup and mywallet, and often include person-related information.
