What is an XCT file?

XCT files mostly belong to Xcode. XCT files mainly serve as files used by Xcode in Apple's development framework. They store internal data that supports automated testing and may embed a Core Data model as part of test configurations.

How to open XCT files

You need a suitable software like Xcode to open an XCT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be determined based on the file extension and the signature (the first few characters of a file). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. As a file extension, XCT isn't very common and covers different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in XCT files:

• 55% of all XCT files start with the bytes 01 02 00 00 00 01 00 00, which are crucial for this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. The file size is in the range of 4 KB to 4 KB. The file type is relatively new. The file name C7D69349-36C0-45A2-B72B-8DE96007332E.xct is characteristic of these files. These files can be linked to ddedac.
• 10% of all XCT files use the same file format, which have the signature []å­Y. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. XCT files are between 1 MB and 91 MB in size. The following filename is common: XCOST---25-01-.xct or XCOST---25-02-.xct.
