Opening XJT Files
The XJT file type is primarily associated with XJ Developer.
What is an XJT file?
These files form the basis for drawing graphical layouts used in Human Machine Interface (HMI) projects.
Key Details sourced by FilExt.com:
FilExt.com note: If you need to open and view a file with the XJT extension, use the correct version of the XJ Developer Suite provided by XJ-3000.
How to open an XJT file
You need a suitable software like XJ Developer to open an XJT file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your XJT file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a XJT file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert XJT files:
- XJ Developer
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. XJT files are often referred to as XJ Developer developers because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Compressed GIMP Image with Properties of GIMPXJT uses JPEG compression for each layer or channel and TAR to collect all layers in one file. (Layers with alphachannels are split into 2 JPEG files). Additional property information about offsets, opacity, layer names etc. are stored in the readable textfile called "PRP" (Properties). The resulting tar-file is optionally compressed a 2nd time using GZIP or BZIP2 (filename ends in "gz" or "bz2" accordingly).
XJT file format:
Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our examination of the XJT files comes to the following conclusion:
XJT is not a common file extension and mainly uses a defined XJT format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 95% of all XJT files start with the bytes XJ, which are crucial for this file format. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. Most of these files are 690 bytes to 100 KB in size. The file type was primarily used more than 10 years ago. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. XJSHOWTEMPk. A common filename is Button_T_C_A_001.xjt. Files like these have the following tags: button, buttont, famen, valve, pump, circle, lamp and pipe.
The remaining 5% of all XJT files are different files with different signatures. These files are often connected to shuibeng, retort, lampt, auto or wind. You can get all the details of your XJT file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .xjt file to analyze" above.
Technical Data for XJT File Extension
an xjt template file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with XJT files
- Associate the XJT file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open template files. Because only the current version supports the latest XJT file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available XJ Developer update.
- To make sure that your XJT file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
