What is an XPD file?

20% of all XPD files start with the bytes 0D 0D, which are crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The average file size is 2 MB with most files being between 290 KB and 10 MB in size. The file type is relatively new. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as UnUsed, LSIS_XPBUILDERb and XP_Project\.
20% of all XPD files store the data in the config file format. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. It consists of a text-based content with a structure and syntax comprising key–value pairs for properties, and sections that organize the properties. These files contain text and words, not binary data. The files are on average 200 bytes in size and range from 140 bytes to 240 bytes. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Code, [File], [Info], Desc, Size, EID=gdp#, download, http://archive.org, EBOOT and http://psp-dev.org/hb/test.php. The file name homebrew.xpd or download.xpd is typical for these files.
