What is an XTI file?

XTI files mostly belong to TwinCAT. XTI files serve different functions depending on the application. They are not a single format, but rather a file extension used in several specialized systems.

XTrackCAD Use: some of XTI files are created by XTrackCAD. In this role, they store track items to assist in designing model train layouts.

Viewing and Editing: Although these files are often in XML format and readable in any text editor, they are best handled with the corresponding software to properly interpret the data.

How can I open an XTI file?

You need a suitable software like TwinCAT to open an XTI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your XTI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a XTI file directly in the browser:. The XTI file is an unofficial file of Blue Wave offline mail reader, a popular offline mail reader among bulletin board system users in the early 1990s.
