What is a ZIF file

ZIF files mostly belong to Zoomify.

ZIF files serve different purposes. In one form, they are used as a Zoomify Zoomed Image File. In this case the file stores parts of a large image in small, tiled sections, so that the image can be zoomed and viewed efficiently.
