98% of all ZVI files use the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. The file contains sections that are named something like Image, Tags, DocumentSummaryInformation, SummaryInformation and Thumbnail. The average file size is 8 MB with most files being between 2 MB and 30 MB in size. The file type was created 10 years ago, but is still used today. Files like these are sometimes connected to snap, control, slide, aufnahme, position, beforetreatmentx, stitched, sample and dapi.
