What is a PDR file?

PDR files mostly belong to Windows by Microsoft. A PDR file is a driver which a Windows system uses to communicate with devices connected to its Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports. The file is actually a Windows executable (EXE) but with a different filename extension. Another type of PDR file is a document recovered by the now discontinued ProntoDoc plugin for Word document processor. The plugin was used to generate document templates. Symbian, a discontinued operating system for mobile devices saves a printer resource in a PDR file.

How to open a PDR file

You need a suitable software like Windows to open a PDR file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert.
