PDR file format:
To view or edit PDR files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the PDR files produces the following result:
The PDR file extension is rarely used and does not have a uniform file format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 15% of all PDR files start with the bytes ÞÊ» crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you will see only illegible characters. The files are on average 45 bytes in size and range from 13 bytes to 45 bytes. Such files are related to person-related data.
- 10% of all PDR files are based on the well-known EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). They consist of unreadable binary data. A typical file size is 9 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: !This program cannot be run in DOS mode and Rich!1. An example of a file name is UMSSPDR.PDR.
The remaining 75% of all PDR files are files with no common format, such as Electronics Arts Pure Data, Crystal, CFPAS and AWYP. They are often associated with maildat, serial, prod or data. If you want to find out what your PDR file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
