Opening a 301 File
The 301 file type is primarily associated with ASUS BIOS Utility.
What is a 301 file?
Another kind is an op-amp macromodel file used in circuit simulation programs such as OrCAD. It stores a subcircuit (macro-model) that simulates the behavior of an analog component.
A third type is used either to store parts of a 3D model or as a segment of a split archive file created by WinRAR. When you encounter this type, it is best to reassemble the parts with the appropriate archiving tool before opening them.
If you need to open a *.301 file, you must first confirm its use.
Files with the extension 301 are often also jpg images or pdf documents, but zip compressed archives or medical images such as DICOM are also common. Use the Online 301 File Viewer on this page to find out the file format being used, and to view your 301 file.
How can I open a 301 file?

301 file format:
To view or edit 301 files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). File extension, signature and file format must match; otherwise errors will occur when the file is opened. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the 301 files looks like this:
The 301 file extension is not widely used. Such a file is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 35% of all 301 files use the same file format, which have the signature 8B A6 3C 4A 23 77 FB 48 80 3D 57 8C C1 FE C4 4D. They consist of illegible, cryptic characters. Most of these files are 6 MB to 16 MB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The files contain the following words: )zKc, ;/rGc and EG=N. A common filename is K501LXAS.301 or TP500LN-AS.301. Files like these are about saas, uaas, lxas, uxas, daas, ljas and ubas.
- 25% of all 301 files start with the bytes 2A 20 crucial for this file format. If you open these files in a text editor, you can view and read the content yourself. Most of these files are 1.1 KB to 1.1 KB in size. The files contain the following words: * (REV N/A) SUPPLY VOLTAGE: +/-15V, * CONNECTIONS: NON-INVERTING INPUT, AMPLIFIER "MACROMODEL", OPERATIONAL, SUBCIRCUIT and * CREATED USING PARTS RELEASE 4.01 ON 06/16/89 AT 13:08. The file name TL071.301 or TL072.301 is typical for these files.
All other 301 files (40%) have no consistent format. These files sometimes refer to faas or flas. If you want to find out what your 301 file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
