What is an AIS file?

AIS files mostly belong to MIT App Inventor. AIS files are not a single file type; they represent different data containers based on context.

App Inventor Projects: some of AIS files are used for Kodular App Inventor Source Code. They are essentially ZIP archives that store project files. Use MIT App Inventor to import, edit, or view these projects.

Game Save Data: some of AIS files are save game files for Alien: Isolation. These files hold the game state and are meant to be accessed by the game.

Database Files: some use the JetDB format to hold AutoCAD Jet Database information. They can be opened with database tools such as Microsoft Access (Access) or AutoCAD-linked utilities.

How to open AIS files

To view or edit AIS files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format.
