Opening a BLI File
The BLI file type is primarily associated with Brother ImageLink.
What is a BLI file?
Drug Data File: In some cases, a BLI file holds structured data related to pharmaceuticals such as Norwegian drug information or blister data from Stada Arzneimittel.
If you have a BLI file, check its header or try opening it in the dedicated application.
How to open BLI files
You need a suitable software like Brother ImageLink to open a BLI file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your BLI file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a BLI file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

BLI format details:
Each file has a definite file format, that is, how the stored data is arranged in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Below is our analysis of the BLI files:
As a file extension, BLI isn't very common and is mainly used by one program with a specific format. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 75% of all BLI files are associated with Kindle DXG Buffered Image Log. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. BLI files can be up to 6 KB in size, but are often around 200 bytes - 2 KB. This file type was primarily in use more than 20 years ago. The keywords ImageLink and 04.000 are typical for these files. Examples of file names are 20180601.BLI.
- 10% of all BLI files use the same file format, which can be identified by the letters "6E 00 FF FE FF" at the beginning. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. The average file size is 62 KB with most files being between 50 KB and 300 KB in size. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as EXPERT USER and 11.00.0.
The remaining 15% of all BLI files are different files with different signatures. Just click the "Choose your .bli file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your BLI file is.
Technical Data for BLI File Extension
a bli proprietary bitmap file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with BLI files
- Associate the BLI file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open proprietary bitmap files. Because only the current version supports the latest BLI file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available Brother ImageLink update.
- To make sure that your BLI file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
