CRF file extension format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Below is our analysis of the CRF files:
You will often come across the CRF file type. This includes many different file formats. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 15% of all CRF files use the ZIP algorithm, so several files are combined and compressed into one CRF file. A typical number of included files is 89. If you want to see the included files and images, simply rename the file extension to .zip and double-click it. CRF files are between 6 KB and 96 MB in size. A common filename is mesh.crf or obj.crf. These files are often associated with date, bitmap, strings, intrface, books and song.
- 10% of all CRF files start with the magic bytes 0C 00 00 00 52 00 45 00 58, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. CRF files can be up to 3 MB in size, but are often around 38 KB - 390 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as REX30, Arial, IHDR and pHYs. These files are often associated with report, clip and print.
All other CRF files (75%) have no uniform format, such as SpellForce 3 game, Cal3D material File, XML, DOC, UTF-16 (LE), ECO, vmpeg, XENC, TRANSPORTABLE, CASY, RDFF and Muz. Tagged as armor, balance, body, route, pack or helmet. You can get all the details of your CRF file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .crf file to analyze" above.
