Opening a CSP File
The CSP file type is primarily associated with CASL.
What is a CSP file?
How do you open CSP files?
You need a suitable software like CASL to open a CSP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your CSP file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a CSP file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

CSP file format details:
Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. When there is a problem with a file, the first step to solving it is to determine the file format. Our evaluation of the CSP files looks like this:
The CSP file extension is not common and includes a lot of different file formats for different programs. The file formats most commonly found in CSP files are:
- 15% of all CSP files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. Compound document files work similarly to real file systems. They contain a number of independent data streams (like files in a file system) which are organized in a hierarchy of containers (like sub-directories in a file system). The file signature of compound files is defined as D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1, so the first character of a file looks like "DOCFILE". There is also a unique Windows component object identifier (CLSID) which is 293bb300-9771-11ce-8f14-ae70a484b027. The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are on average 210 KB in size and range from 55 KB to 480 KB.
- 10% of all CSP files are based on the zip format, that is, a CSP file includes multiple compressed files. Primarily 2 to 4 files are included. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The files are 38 KB to 3 MB in size, with a median of 800 KB.
The remaining 75% of all CSP files are files with no common format, such as Creative Signal Processor microcode, Cinespace LUT and config. These files sometimes refer to custompids. You can get all the details of your CSP file by dragging it onto this page or by clicking the button "Choose your .csp file to analyze" above.

a csp program is a special file format by Caslsoft and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with CSP files
- Associate the CSP file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open programs. Because only the current version supports the latest CSP file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the Caslsoft manufacturer website after an available CASL update.
- To make sure that your CSP file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .CSP file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
