What is a DKP file?

DKP files mostly belong to SAP Enable Now. Files with the extension DKP do not have a single universal meaning. They are used by different applications to store specialized data packages.
For example, many DKP files serve as a SAP demo package for SAP Enable Now. In this case the file is a ZIP container that holds demonstration content – sometimes called a DeltaMaster project file – used in training or simulation environments.
Other applications use the same extension for different purposes such as:

• Diabetic Data Keeper File: A JSON-based file used by the Accu-Chek Connect app to record diabetes-related data.
• Encrypted Dokoupil Data File: A secured file that may require decompression tools like WinRAR to open, sometimes associated with software like DrafSight.

How do you open DKP files?

You need a suitable software like SAP Enable Now to open a DKP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. DKP file extension format:

Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension does not match the file format, double-clicking on the file will cause an error upon opening. The file type with the extension 'DKP' is mainly used by one program with a specific format. However, the following two file formats are common:

• 80% of all DKP files are based on the zip format, multiple files are compressed and combined into one DKP file. Such a ZIP file contains 8 to 160 files with names like \project\. If you'd like to see the images and files included, just rename the file extension to .zip and double-click. A typical file size is 3 MB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. project. These files are attributed to create, demo, production, workarea, order, inspection, master, comic and stock.
• 6% of all DKP files use the popular JSON file format. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data−interchange format. It is easy for humans to read and write. It is easy for machines to parse and generate. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The average file size is 16 KB with most files being between 2 KB and 94 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. measurementDate, modifyDate, userId, sharedId, userName, measurementId, BloodSugarMeasurementModel and type. Measurements.dkp is a typical file name.
