What is a DPP file

DPP files mostly belong to DPP by Atila Neves. DPP is the filename extension of package files generated when a project created with UNICOM Intelligence is deleted or unassigned. This type of DPP file is an archive containing cache files (CHJ), case data files (DDF), respondent image and audio files, audit data files, and project files. DPP is also the filename extension of deployment package definition files of the OSGi framework used to develop and deploy modular applications and libraries. Scripts written in D programming language are stored in another type of DPP files used by DPP compiler wrapper. This tool allows developers to directly include and parse C and C++ source code in DPP files by translating all C/C++ headers and directives in that file to D syntax. DPP filename extension is also associated with documents containing drawings saved in the vector drawing format used by DrawPlus 2D vector graphics editor. DrawPlus has been discontinued.

How to open a DPP file

You need a suitable software like DPP to open a DPP file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. Every file has a defined file format, i.e. how the data is arranged in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If you'd like to see the images and files included, just rename the file extension to .zip and double-click. A typical file size is 290 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. images/00000000.jpg, IHDR, IDATx and pHYs. Files like these are sometimes connected to logo, drawing, goat, service, master, album, canon and plan.
8% of all DPP files utilize the Microsoft Compound File format, known also as OLE2 Compound Document format or Composite Document File format. Microsoft Compound File is a complex container format used by some versions of Microsoft Office and other Windows-centric applications. It has features similar to those of a filesystem format. Compound files begin always with signature bytes D0 CF 11 E0 A1 B1 1A E1 (ÐÏà¡±á). The contents of these files cannot be read by a human; only a computer program can interpret the data. The files are on average 210 KB in size and range from 38 KB to 4 MB.
