What is a DVD file?

DVD files mostly belong to CloneDVD by Elaborate Bytes. A DVD file contains information that CloneDVD uses to burn or clone media/data files to and from a Digital Video Disc. Information stored in this file include timestamps for layerbreaks and the names of ISO disk images containing the media sources to be burnt to a disc. Another type of DVD file contains a Digital Video Disc project created using the discontinued DVDMaestro software.

How to open a DVD file

You need a suitable software like CloneDVD to open a DVD file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your DVD file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a DVD file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.
