E2 file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our examination of the E2 files comes to the following conclusion:
The file type with the extension 'E2' is used by different programs with different formats. However, the following two file formats are common:
- 55% of all E2 files are based on the Microsoft Compound File format, also known as Compound File Binary File format (CFBF or CFB) or OLE2 Compound Document format. This general-purpose file format provides a file-system-like structure within a file for the storage of arbitrary, application-specific streams of data. Header signature for the CFB format with 8-byte Hex value D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 (which looks like "DOCFILE"). The CLSID (class identifier of a Windows component object) is 39aaea35-f71f-11d2-bd59-00500400405b. The file contains several sections which are named like SummaryInformation, Sub and DocumentSummaryInformation. E2 files can be up to 18 MB in size, but are often around 53 KB - 1 MB. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. Such E2 files store data about circles, fhholudfaqedi, axle, ensemble, faqediag and fdtle.
- 2% of all E2 files start with the bytes PRODUCT="SAR_IM crucial for this file format. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. A typical file size is 150 MB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as ACQUISITION_STATION, PRODUCT, REF_DOC="PX-SP-50-9105_3/1 ", PNESA and PROC_STAGE=N. Such files sometimes refer to pnesa.
All other E2 files (43%) have no uniform format, the following 3 formats exist: JPG. Often described as content, page, preview or skam. If you want to find out what your E2 file contains, drag and drop it onto this page.
