Opening EFA Files
The EFA file type is primarily associated with Awave Studio.
What is an EFA file?
How to open EFA files
You need a suitable software like Awave Studio to open an EFA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your EFA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a EFA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert EFA files:
- Awave Studio by FMJ
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. EFA files are often referred to as Awave Studio audios because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- Ecrypt (encrypted data) by Email ConnectionEcrypt is an obsolete file encryption program for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It saved encrypted files such as sensitive emails, images, and audio content in an EFA file. This file format is classified as Encoded. Related links: Ecrypt Download for Decryption
EFA file format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the EFA files:
The file type with the extension 'EFA' covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:
- 65% of all EFA files save the data in LNK file format. LNK is short for link. An LNK file is a Windows shortcut that points to your original file or folder. Windows shortcut files can be used to deliver malware, so analyze unknown files here before double-clicking them. These files contain neither text nor words, but only data. Most of these files are 2 KB to 4 KB in size. The file type was developed 10 years ago and is still in use today. These files can be linked to docx, xlsx, pptx, agreement, christmas, manager, launch, specification, schedule, ctrlact, letter, report, guide, card and prep.
- 25% of all EFA files start with the bytes EFA01, which are crucial for this file format. They consist of unreadable binary data. The files are on average 110 KB in size and range from 79 KB to 150 KB. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as EFA01. Some examples of file names are VodacomInteractiveBill_Jun2017.efa or VodacomInteractiveBill_Dec2017.efa. Such EFA files store data about bill, interactive and vodacom.
The remaining 10% of all EFA files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. afe. They are often associated with summary or welcome. If you want to find out which format your EFA file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .efa file to analyze".
