File extension: EFA
File type:  instrument sample

What is an EFA file?

EFA files mostly belong to Awave Studio by FMJ. EFA is the filename extension of instrument samples recorded by Ensoniq Advanced Sample Recorder (ASR), an audio sampling keyboard. An audio sample is a piece of audio or full-length soundtrack used in professional music production. Ensoniq's Advanced Sample Recorder product line has been discontinued. EFA is also the filename extension of files encrypted with Ecrypt file encryption software. This program is obsolete but it is still available for download on some websites.

How to open EFA files

You need a suitable software like Awave Studio to open an EFA file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your EFA file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a EFA file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. EFA files are often referred to as Awave Studio audios because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
  2. Ecrypt (encrypted data) by Email Connection
Ecrypt is an obsolete file encryption program for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It saved encrypted files such as sensitive emails, images, and audio content in an EFA file. This file format is classified as Encoded. Related links: Ecrypt Download for Decryption

EFA file format:

The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The file format can be deduced from the file extension and the signature. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. So you need a detailed analysis of a file to find out the format and the associated program. Below is our analysis of the EFA files:

The file type with the extension 'EFA' covers different formats for different programs. But the following two file formats are common:

The remaining 10% of all EFA files are different files with different signatures, often e.g. afe. They are often associated with summary or welcome. If you want to find out which format your EFA file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .efa file to analyze".
