What is an EP2 file?

EP2 files mostly belong to Leitz Label Manager. EP2 files are design archives created for label registration work. They use a ZIP container to hold layout data and settings, which are used for label design.
These files are primarily associated with Leitz Label Manager and are known as Leitz register design files.
Additional uses include their role as Avery Zweckform DesignPro label files, managed by Leitz Icon Software.

How to open EP2 files

You need a suitable software like Leitz Label Manager to open an EP2 file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your EP2 file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a EP2 file directly in the browser:. Why is it important to know the file format? This is the only way to find out which program to use to open the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. • 85% of all EP2 files are based on the zip format, so several files are compressed and saved in one EP2 file. The included 3 to 4 files have file names such as design.json.
