File Extension EX1

File type: Renamed .EXE File

Notes about the EX1 file extension:

Errors in your registry are one of the common causes for incorrect file associations on your windows system. It is highly recommended that you check your registry for file association errors (will also check for any other registry errors).

The EX1 file type is primarily associated with 'Renamed .EXE File'. Some people will rename a .EXE file to .EX1 in order to send it via some E-mail systems that block .EXE files by default. On receipt the receiver must rename the file to .EXE in order to run the program. (Various other extensions could be used to do the same thing so long as both parties know what the file really is and can rename the file.)
