Notes about the FAS file extension:
Incorrect file associations could be the result of underlying issues within your PC system. As such it is highly recommended to
scan your PC for invalid registry entries, unused processes and other unfavourable system settings to identify slowdown issues.
The FAS file type is primarily associated with 'FASTA Format'. FASTA is a DNA and Protein sequence alignment software package first described (as FASTP) by David J. Lipman and William R. Pearson in 1985 in the article Rapid and sensitive protein similarity searches. The original FASTP program was designed for protein sequence similarity searching. FASTA format files often have file extensions like .fa, .mpfa, .fna, .fsa, .fas or .fasta.
