Opening an FBD File
The FBD file type is primarily associated with PlayMaker Pro.
What is an FBD file?
Some files are football playbook files made by PlayMaker Pro. They store formations, tactics, and player arrangements used in sports strategy planning.
Other FBD files use the FictionBook2 eBook format, which is XML‐based. These files contain digital book content and layout data and work best with readers like FBReader.
There are also FBD files that represent guitar fretboard diagrams. These files, produced by tools such as Neck Diagrams and the Fretboard Diagram Editor, store instructional chord layouts.
Additional FBD files are binary data files used to capture foot scan measurements for diagnostics by FootBalance Diagnostic and FootfallCam Analytic. More information is available at FootBalance.
Finally, some FBD files hold layout data for Chinese book designs; these work with systems like the Founder Fit Layout System and are sometimes associated with FreeCAD drawing files.

FBD file format:
A file format defines how the data in the file is structured. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. Exact knowledge of the format is therefore important in order to solve problems occurring in files. Our analysis of the FBD files produces the following result:
The FBD file extension is rather rarely used and is used by different programs with different formats. The following file formats are most commonly found in FBD files:
- 35% of all FBD files start with the magic bytes Playbook, which are always the first bytes of this file format. The contents of these files can even be read by a human. Most of these files are 3 KB to 390 KB in size. The file type is old but is used even today. The files contain the following words: Playbook 4 and Z Arial 1234567890123456789012 1 1 12 1. These files are often associated with playbook, template and defense, and frequently comprise personal data.
- 25% of all FBD files save the data in XML file format. The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a simple text-based format for representing structured information: documents, webpages, data, configuration, books, transactions, invoices, and much more. XML defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable. The contents of these files are easily readable with a text editor. The file size is in the range of 10 KB to 240 KB. The following keywords are characteristic: <description>, <title-info>, <FictionBook xmlns="http://www.gribuser.ru/xml/fictionbook/2.0" xmlns:l="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> and genre. Files like these are about person-related data.
The remaining 40% of all FBD files are different files with different signatures. Often described as body, driver, scale, setup, power, core, logo or tyjy. Just click the "Choose your .fbd file to analyze" button on this page to find out what your FBD file is.

an fbd data file is a special file format and should only be edited and saved with the appropriate software.
How to solve problems with FBD files
- Associate the FBD file extension with the correct application.
- Update your software that should actually open data files. Because only the current version supports the latest FBD file format. Search, therefore, e.g. on the manufacturer website after an available PlayMaker Pro update.
- To make sure that your FBD file is not corrupted or virus-infected, get the file again and scan it with Google's virustotal.com.
- Click here to open your .FBD file online - secure, fast, and no downloads needed.
