All about FEATURE Files
The FEATURE file type is primarily associated with PyCharm.
What is a FEATURE file
How to open a FEATURE file
You need a suitable software like PyCharm to open a FEATURE file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FEATURE file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FEATURE file directly in the browser:. Just drag the file onto this browser window and drop it.

Programs that open and convert FEATURE files:
- PyCharm by Jet Brains
See the previous paragraphs to learn more about the main application. FEATURE files are often referred to as PyCharm developers because this type of file is primarily created or used by this software.
- SharePoint (custom feature) by MicrosoftSharePoint is a document management and storage application primarily used for collaborative document editing. It saves a custom feature in a file with FEATURE filename extension. This file format is classified as Developer.
FEATURE file extension format:
The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. Each file format has a unique extension and almost always a unique signature. For example, Microsoft Word documents have the extension .docx and the signature (usually the first 3 characters in this file) PK. However, different programs can use the same file extension, and file extensions can be assigned incorrectly. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the FEATURE files looks like this:
The FEATURE file extension is rarely used and is used by a few programs, each with its own file format. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 30% of all FEATURE files belong to Gherkin Feature. These files are plain text, which means they can be viewed with any text editor such as Windows Editor, Nano for Linux, and TextEdit for macOS. The files are 220 bytes to 4 KB in size, with a median of 1 KB. The file type was created recently. Certain words are almost always found in the files, such as Feature, Given and Scenario. Files like these are about demo.
- 10% of all FEATURE files store the data in the UTF-8 file format. UTF-8 is the World Wide Web's most common character encoding for Unicode. UTF-8 files can be viewed with any text editor. These files start with the 3 bytes (hex: EF BB BF), the so called byte order mark (BOM). FEATURE files are between 990 bytes and 10 KB in size. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. #language: ru, @tree and Feature. These files can be linked to sozdanie and export.
All other FEATURE files (60%) have no consistent format. They are often associated with scenarios, priority, area, bancolombiapay, wallet or login. If you want to find out which format your FEATURE file belongs to, just click on the button "Choose your .feature file to analyze".
Technical Data for FEATURE File Extension
