What is a FIS file

FIS files mostly belong to MATLAB. FIS files are used for specific system functions. The primary use is as a Fuzzy Inference System file created in MATLAB/Simulink. These files store data for fuzzy logic simulation—such as membership functions and rule bases—that enable control systems to work with uncertain or imprecise inputs.
Other uses include:

LCMS data files that contain road survey information for specialized surveying tools.

Installer scripts used in the Fxpansion Install System, which help in setting up software.

How to open FIS files

You need a suitable software like MATLAB to open a FIS file. Without proper software you will receive a Windows message "How do you want to open this file?" or "Windows cannot open this file" or a similar Mac/iPhone/Android alert. If you cannot open your FIS file correctly, try to right-click or long-press the file. Then click "Open with" and choose an application. You can also display a FIS file directly in the browser:. The file format determines how the data is stored in the file. The initial characters of a file are called signature, sometimes also referred to as "magic bytes". The signature can be used to infer the file format. Frequently, however, one file extension is used by different programs for different file formats, and one file format for different file extensions. • 75% of all FIS files are using the well-known config file format to store the data. A configuration file is used by computer software to store settings. Such FIS files store data about fuzzy, speed, motor, control, controller, mamdani, washing, cloths, matlab, sugeno, covid, input and logic.
• 7% of all FIS files start with the magic bytes LCMS_SURVEY_DATA, which are always the first bytes of this file format. These are binary files, so they do not contain words or text. Most of these files are 3 MB to 7 MB in size. The keywords LCMS_SURVEY_DATA are typical for these files. Such FIS files store data about lcms and data.
