FUN file format:
To view or edit FUN files you need to know the file format, because it determines how the data in this file is stored. Often, the file format can be deduced from the file extension or the initial bytes (called the signature). If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. If there are problems opening a file, you must first determine the file format used. Our evaluation of the FUN files is as follows:
The FUN file type includes various formats for various programs. The two most popular formats are as follows:
- 45% of all FUN files are based on the popular .NET file format. The .NET format is used to save Microsoft .NET Framework objects to a file (ex. save game state as file) via object serialization. Such a .NET object may contain functions and data like settings, images or videos. The contents of these files are partially readable with a text editor. The files are often between 530 bytes and 3 KB in size. The file type is old but is used even today. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. FAssembly-CSharp, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null, locationname, ItemsDeck, SpellsDeck, firstcards, mappositionX, mappositionY, skinname, PlayData, En_lang and minutes. game1.fun is a typical file name. Files like these are about autosave, hall, room, after, first, raid, apartaments, scientist, corridor, massage, office, player, food and shop.
- 5% of all FUN files store the data in the EXE file format. EXE is the abbreviation for executable and is the standard executable file format on Windows. The format can be identified by the letters "MZ" at the beginning. Executable files can also be used to distribute viruses and other types of malicious software (malware). These files are binary files, so they do not contain text, but only cryptic characters. The file size is in the range of 10 KB to 430 KB. Several words can almost always be found in the files, e.g. !This program cannot be run in DOS mode and KRich. Some examples of file names are 20PointQuestion-2.fun.
The remaining 50% of all FUN files are different files with different signatures, the following 8 formats can be found: Funpaint 2 bitmap, Cubify Invent model, ZIP, Flash, Tpa and SELECT. These files sometimes refer to pasukankakek, icybursto, textures, virak or visit. Just click the "Choose your .fun file to view this image" button on this page to find out what your FUN file is.
