FUP file extension format:

To find out what program is needed to open FUP files, you need to determine the file format. A file format is determined by the file extension and signature, so JPEG images have the extension .jpg and the first bytes in the file are ÿØÿ. If the file extension or signature does not match the file format, errors will occur when opening or editing the file. FUP is not that commonly used as a file extension. This file type includes different formats for different programs. The following file formats are most commonly found in FUP files:

• 45% of all FUP files have the same signature FUP. The content consists of readable text data, which can be read using a text editor. FUP files are between 600 KB and 1 MB in size. This file type is based on cutting-edge technology. The files contain the following words: WEB Interface Image, WEB Interface Upgrade Package and AR2.png. Some examples of file names are dvb-t-s2-web-v1-05.fup or multistandard-web-v1-04.fup. Files like these are sometimes connected to spts.
• 30% of all FUP files use the ZIP algorithm, so several files are compressed and saved in one FUP file. A FUP file includes 2 to 40 files. Customary file names are TotalVersion.cypt, baseqcom.flb and flyapdata.flp. A little tip: If you rename the file extension to .zip and then double-click, you will see the included files and images. The file size is in the range of 76 MB to 510 MB. The files contain the following words: baseqcom and cyptUT. The following filename is common: flyupdate-G8II-ISR-HY-baseqcompatch-valuesw.fup or flyupdate-G8II-ISR-HY-release-20180601_1422-valuesw.fup. These files can be linked to flyupdate, valuesw, release, baseqcompatch and ford.
